Movie Analysis/Review: Think like a Man (Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart)

Think Like a Man (Sony Pictures, April 20, 2012) is a romantic comedy with an all-star cast, including Kevin Hart, Jerry Ferrara, Gabrielle Union, Taraji P. Henson, Michael Ealy, Meagan Good, Regina Hall, Terrence J, and Romany Malco. The film is derivative of Steve Harvey’s book, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” released in 2009. Both the book and the movie give insight into a man’s way of thinking regarding relationships with women and how to bridge the differences between the two.

When I initially saw the title “Think like a Man,” I assumed the story was trying to throw women a hint: adjust to what your man thinks. I had so many questions. What implications does this give our generation? Who/what is this for? Will this brainwash our women? Why should we think like men? At that point, I had no idea how wrong I was. Reading…
